Redford residents come together throughout the year to enjoy many events such as festivals, children’s activities, concerts, and parades. The Redford Township Marquee, located in downtown Redford hosts many of these events, as well as their annual farmer’s market during the summer and fall. Local events offer residents and visitors alike a small-town feel, while still being a stone’s throw from big-city and college-town amenities.
Redford Township’s Farmers Market features local farmers, growers, Michigan-grown produce, plants, handmade products, baked goods, and more. The Market at the Marquee runs Sundays June through October. Learn more about the Market at the Marquee, including vendor applications here.
The Redford Township Beautification Committee hosts Perennial Exchanges in the Spring and Fall encourage residents to trade many different varieties of plants and flowers for their own yards. Join in to talk with fellow gardeners about gardening tips, the joys and the unpredictability of their favorite hobby.
The annual Township Festival is usually held over four days during the first week of June. Amusement park rides, games, live music, and a variety of events make this family-friendly festival the highlight of summer. A large firework display on Saturday night should not be missed.
Redford Township is the sister-city to not one, but TWO German-speaking European cities (St. Johann, Austria and Gau-Algesheim, Germany). With that in mind — Redford hosts an annual Oktoberfest in late September/early October.
Olde Fashioned Holidays is held at the Marquee on the first Thursday of December. Including horse-drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa, and the official lighting of the Township’s Christmas Tree, this event rings in the holiday season in Redford Township.
